Elmbridge Borough council's north area planning sub-committee has approved plans that will allow recreational camping and caravanning on a site at Apps Court Farm in Walton.

Plans that will allow recreational camping and caravanning on green belt land in Walton have been given the go ahead.

A change of use application for a site at Apps Court Farm was submitted to Elmbridge Borough Council last October.

And the authority’s north area planning sub-committee approved the proposals for a temporary period of five years at a meeting in Esher last week.

Under the plans – submitted by Apps Court Farm Limited – around 168 camping plots will be created on the 3.6-hectare north east quadrant of the wider farm site.

A total of 48 formal plots with electrical connections are due to be located along the eastern boundary, immediately to the north of the quad biking track.

Three informal camping areas without service connections – containing around 120 plots – are also due to be provided.
